What is Single-Cell Sequencing
Single-cell sequencing is a genomic approach to reveal transcriptomics at the individual cell level, including identifying tissue cell types as well as reflecting the cellular heterogeneity and tissue microenvironment of different samples. It allows an in-depth understanding of the state and association of each cell from bulk tissue, presenting a more realistic and comprehensive cellular analysis. Currently, single-cell sequencing technology plays an important role in the fields of oncology, developmental biology, microbiology, neuroscience, and botany and has become a focal point of life science research.
Single-cell Sequencing | High-throughput Sequencing | |
---|---|---|
Definition | Whole-cell sequencing of all cells in one cell population | Sequencing of each cell in one cell population |
Detection ability | 100-200 Gb (contains gene expression from 1,000-6,000 different cells) | 6-10 Gb (contains gene expression of only one whole cell population) |
Detection | 19,000-23,000 genes (contains 1,000-5,000 genes expressed per cell) | 19,000-23,000 genes expressed |
Application | Include reproduction, tumor, fetal development, neurodevelopment, disease, immune research, etc. | Various routine research areas |
Advantage | 1. Accurately analyze the gene expression of each cell; 2. Accurate differentiation of cell populations and comparison between different cell categories; 3. Identify the expression of rare cells; 4. Analyze and interpret intercellular relationships in the microenvironment; 5. Describe samples from various perspectives, e.g., expression, cell amount, and cell composition |
1. Lower cost; 2. Convenient and mature analytical process |
Our Single-cell Sequencing Services
To perform accurate and rapid single-cell sequencing studies, CD Genomics has optimized our single-cell sequencing platform based on cutting-edge research literature to achieve truly accurate, reliable, and comprehensive single-cell sequencing and data analysis. We can analyze thousands or even tens of thousands of single cells, addressing the throughput or scalability limitations of conventional scRNA-seq.
Limitation of Single-cell Sequencing & Solutions
1 Difficult to obtain single cells due to various tissue requirements
Specific dissociation and suspension systems are designed for different tissues to ensure the successful acquisition of single cells
2 Frozen tissues and precious samples cannot be used for experiments
Adopt the internationally recognized frozen tissue recovery technology and MACS dead cell removing technology to ensure the sufficient use of frozen tissue
3 PCR bias interferes with gene expression in single-cell sequencing
Using advanced technology to construct PCR unbiased library
4 Single-cell sequencing analysis is difficult, and the amount of data is large.
Utilizing an advanced computing platform and performing by an experienced team of biochemical experts, we can accurately and quickly analyze single-cell sequencing data
5 Single-cell RNA classification accuracy is insufficient because certain cells cannot be subdivided
Adopted the single-cell proteome and single-cell transcriptome sequencing technologies simultaneously to achieve comprehensive detection from upstream to downstream and ensure high cell classification accuracy
